Established in 2013, the Chinese Academy of Sciences South America Center for Astronomy (CASSACA) is one of the overseas science and education cooperation centers of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). CASSACA is based on the National Astronomical Observatories, CAS. CASSACA is committed to carrying out basic astronomical research activities in Chile, and has a long-term collaborative relationship with the Chilean National Agency for Research and Development, the Chilean Astronomical Society, Chilean universities, and research institutions. CASSACA has become an important platform and bridge for astronomical communication and collaboration between China and Chile.
